VISION & MISSION

Since 1984 the International Training Center (ITC) in San Diego has promoted global knowledge sharing and competency development by producing and transmitting via satellite, microwave, cable and the Internet, annual series of live, interactive videoconferences on selected topics that include: business, management & productivity human networks, technology & communications health, risk and the environment law, security and regulatory policy job markets, demographics & the new economy global competitiveness.

It is generally agreed that in the 21st century, the long-term trends that create wealth and value are largely still applicable, such as new markets, technology, continuous innovation, and entrepreneurialism, the values of which competitive organizations will hold onto while simultaneously adjusting and adapting to unfamiliar business and new realities in their benchmarking practices. This has be achieved through the diversification of our goods and services offered, which is modeled after progressive business models which accommodate consumer perceptions of value, environmental stewardship, and price. Our growing market of consumers, which are increasingly demanding organizational environmental and social stewardship, has been the driving force behind the ITC’s new transformation, leading to an increased size and diversity of audiences, the education and inspiration of the global public, and the diversification of ITC goods and services as an organizational leader of global knowledge sharing and effecting long-term change in organizational thinking.

Magna Carta of the ITC Organization

Philosophy and Guiding Principles

1.      All of mankind has the same origin and inevitably shares a common destiny. Therefore, it must strive to strengthen its spirit of solidarity and legitimate aspirations for higher levels of well-being for all.

2.      The diversity of planet Earth and the Universe has shaped widely different cultures and communities, each with unique traditions, pride and resources, which throughout time have clashed with each other in ideologies, ambitions and even armed conflict. The strength of mankind is its diversity. Thus, we must all strive to develop a global and universal mindset that promotes respect and understanding, for it is through these principles that we discover the value of others, and this is the most basic foundation for lasting peace.

3.      The population explosion of recent years, the proliferation of information and telecommunication technologies, the explosion of new knowledge, and the inevitable re-invention of governments and governed citizens have generated an intense process of globalization never before seen by mankind. It is imperative that the wisdom of our diverse cultures, particularly the ancient and millennial, and not the material or ideology ambitions of nations, organizations or interest groups, is established as the guiding spirit in all our creative and productive endeavors within the evident realities of interdependence and mutual need of our new global reality.

4.      Sharing knowledge is the most important and urgent responsibility we now have as a globalized society in order to reduce the growing gap of productivity and socio-economic well-being between nations and communities around the world. In particular, we must all strive to acquire and share global knowledge, as this provides the framework that we need to collaborate in the spirit of mutual commitment and benefit.

5.      The wide and unjust poverty gap between the nations of the world today must become a shared responsibility for mankind. It is urgent that we all promote and contribute to the development of human collaboration networks worldwide, using modern telecommunication and information technologies available, to generate new productive and innovative activities that create value in education, business, government and civil society, empowering communities with new global skills and competencies and not only with philanthropic donations or gifts that tend to provide short-term relief and false expectations of future welfare.

6.      The balance of man, nature and spiritual well-being within the global system is critical to our society in its quest for growth and prosperity. Thus, mankind must adopt sustainable policies and actions that synchronize our organizations and communities with our responsibility to protect this delicate balance.  To do this we must develop Emotional (E), Technological (T) and Knowledge (K) competencies at all levels to become better decision-makers with a global and universal focus.

7.      Mankind has become more globalized and interconnected than ever before. Thus, we must all strive to improve our understanding of the global system, with all its geophysical, ecological, economic, organizational, socio-political, cultural and individual complexities and intricacies. Education, business, government and civil society must renew their shared responsibilities by incorporating global knowledge and competencies in all their endeavors, as this will pave the way for the emergence of a new global conscience and citizenship.

8.      Throughout the ages our diverse cultures and communities have not always protected the basic rights of women and youth. In a new world of growing freedom and protection of human rights for all,  we must reinforce the necessary cultural, ethical and regulatory mechanisms and actions to insure that our global society can provide this aspiration to all women and youth on the planet, for it is they who provide continuity and hope to our society.

9.      The unprecedented creativity and innovation of our globalized society in recent years has produced new technologies in almost all industries and markets, which to a great extent have been the basis for our progress and modernization. We must strive to give all sectors of our society access to these accomplishments of mankind, promoting social responsibility and solidarity among entrepreneurs and business leaders, for it is they who manage the material wealth of our society and must collaborate to transform it to social and spiritual well-being for all.

10.  Our contemporary electronic global village offers us an unprecedented opportunity for shared distance education, training and exchange like never before. A new global face of mankind requires that we all engage in competition-cooperation roles with one same human spirit of competitiveness that values continuous learning as the key for our shared success.  With the recent explosion of information and knowledge, wisdom must become a mandatory goal for all scholars and learners in society, and this now includes all of us.

11.  The ITC Organization, founded in 1984 in San Diego, California, U.S.A., has the important mission of promoting the philosophy and principles of this Carta Magna. It is a unique membership-based, multi-cultural and multi-sectorial network of organizations with distinguished active leaders, coordinators and participants from various continents, particularly the Americas, China and India. It is urgent and imperative that it develop as soon as possible a firm presence in all nations of the world in order to influence decision-makers at the highest levels of government, education, business and civil society towards adopting this Magna Carta as a new commitment towards global and universal cooperation and shared responsibility, inviting selected non-profit organizations and foundations to assist in providing the financial and other resources it will need to carry out its mission worldwide.

12.  International and global organizations, as well as national legislative bodies, foreign affairs agencies and diplomats, have a special duty and responsibility to go beyond intention and rhetoric, for the global system today urgently needs concrete actions and results from their efforts given the critical role of their mission and functions. Thus, the ITC Organization will be striving to build strategic alliances and collaborative projects in crucial areas such as clean energy, environmental  innovation and networked education and training that translate into win-win outcomes for our global system, and will continue holding  ITC Annual Meetings in key locations around the world to engage as many leaders and organizations possible in its noble mission of improving the present and future of mankind, for the benefit of our future generations.
